Amie decided to delve into Massage Therapy after a decade of being an athletic trainer. She comes to The Wellness Center with her Master’s Degree in Sports Medicine and years of experience working with Rugby athletes. Being a rugby player herself, Amie’s perspective of health and healing is unique. She currently works for the University of Denver’s Men’s Rugby clubs as well as the USA Women’s National Rugby team. Her decision to go back to school to obtain a degree in Massage Therapy was one that she considered a great adjunct to her athletic training repertoire. What surprised her is how much she enjoyed facilitating this type of bodywork. She graduated from the Colorado School of Healing Arts in June 2015 with certification in Neuromuscular Techniques, Sports Massage and Lymph Drainage.
Amie feels massage therapy allows her to have a deeper connection with the client, which is an incredible motivator for her. “Getting to know a person’s story and the effects on their body creates a unique opportunity to design a treatment that is specific to that person. I love meeting people and improving their quality of day-to-day living!” Amie is excited to work with clients from the avid gardener with sore hands and back to the office worker dealing with posture/sitting issues to the weekend warrior. Amie continues to expand her skill sets and had added, instrument assisted soft tissue techniques, such as the Edge Tool and Cupping to her practice. She specializes in Sports Massage, Lymph Drainage and Injury Recovery.
