Schedule a Therapeutic Massage.

Therapeutic massage is a focused style of massage that is designed to release tension and chronic holding patterns that originate in the deeper layers of our muscles or connective tissues. “Deep tissue” is a buzz word that has become increasingly popular in the world of massage, but it is not synonymous with Therapeutic massage.  The focus of a Therapeutic massage is to bring about change in the muscles, tendons or tissue to facilitate balance to a specific area as well as the body in its’ entirety.  Therapists may utilize slow, strong strokes that move across the grain of the muscle to physically breakdown the “knots” or blockages in the tissue. This technique can be mildly uncomfortable, but it is highly effective.  Through consultation, your therapist will establish just how deep to go to ensure your massage is both enjoyable and effective. To be a bit sore the next day, like you would be after a workout, is not uncommon. Drinking extra water, taking an Epsom salt bath and gentle stretching are good ways to help alleviate any soreness you may be experiencing.

Benefits of a full-body therapeutic massage include:

  • Pain alleviation
  • Increased mobility
  • Reduced inflammation
  • Improved circulation
  • Enhanced sense of wellness
