Amy Gage, LMT
Amy graduated from the New York Institute of Massage with high honors in October of 2003 and has been with The Wellness Center since April of 2009. Through her academic merits, she was awarded a mentorship position with an Osteopath in Buffalo, New York, focusing her studies on Advanced Muscle Energy Techniques and Myofascial Release. In addition, she has centered her practice and studies around Craniosacral Therapy (CST), training through the Upledger Institute, and most recently obtaining a 2 year advanced certification through the Colorado School of Energy Studies, in Boulder, Colorado.
Amy uses a mindful approach when working with clients, allowing for the body’s “inherent treatment plan” to unfold and inform her sessions. Clients describe her massage as “nothing they anticipated, but everything they needed.” Her treatments are centered around the relationship between the Central Nervous System (CNS) and it’s effects on the body (i.e. stress, fight or flight response, et cetera), and are intuitively guided using a gentle therapeutic touch.
Her philosophy is: “I have no agenda when working with a client. I listen to your concerns and allow your body to guide me. The body has the inherent ability to heal itself. I’m simply here to facilitate that healing.”
Amy enjoys working with all different types of clients, asking only for an open mind and a willingness to advocate for personal health and well being. Amy works with people of all ages, and has experience working with children ranging in ages from 1 week on.
