It’s a Monday morning in Denver and you, along with thousands of other Coloradans, are climbing into your car and hitting the road. You’re driving to work, dropping kids off at school, running errands, or maybe venturing into the mountains. Most of these trips will end safely. But according to the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT), nearly 100,000 car accidents happened in 2025 and just as many are expected for 2026.
If you or someone you love has been injured in a car accident, waiting to receive care could lead to long-term health complications affecting mobility, posture, muscle function, and overall quality of life. For more than 25 years, The Wellness Center has been helping Colorodans recover from car accident injuries, regain mobility, and relieve pain.
Immediate Steps Post-Accident
Many car accidents seem minor at first. If you’re not immediately in pain, you might think you’ve walked away uninjured. However, symptoms of whiplash, spinal cord injury, soft tissue damage, fractures, and sprains can show up 24-72 hours after the accident.
It’s best to receive a medical evaluation and begin tracking any symptoms you’re experiencing right away. This documentation will be helpful for your insurance claim and members of your health care team like a chiropractor, massage therapist, or physical therapist. Watch for symptoms like: headaches, nausea, fogginess, stiffness, pain, numbness, and tingling.
The good news is your insurance might cover your medical treatment! Begin by filing a claim and find out if you have something called MEDPAY coverage (also known as Medical Payment coverage). Dr. Tracey Jones, D.C. at The Wellness Center accepts MEDPAY coverage for chiropractic care to help you recover after your car accident.

Chiropractors and massage therapists treat the underlying injuries that cause headaches, dizziness, pain, restricted movement, and stiffness after a car accident. It’s best to begin treatment right away to begin healing and prevent symptoms from worsening over time.
What Happens During Your First Chiropractic Appointment at The Wellness Center

Your first appointment will be 60 minutes with chiropractor Dr. Tracey Jones, D.C. During this appointment, she will review your crash details, imaging, and notes you’ve provided, as well as conduct a medical evaluation. Depending on your condition, she may recommend visiting your primary care provider if you haven’t already done so.
Based on the findings of the evaluation, Dr. Jones will prepare a treatment plan. This may include chiropractic care, massage therapy, and functional exercises to be done at home. You will receive your first chiropractic adjustment today. Should you be referred to a massage therapist, Dr. Jones will work closely with this therapist to further your treatment plan. She will then send documentation of her visits and bills to your insurance and/or lawyer.
Because your MEDPAY coverage will have already been verified before your initial visit with Dr. Jones, no payment will be required at the time of visit for chiropractic care. Instead, this bill will go directly to your insurance. Massage Therapy is not covered by MEDPAY at The Wellness Center so any massage treatments received will be paid for out of pocket, at the time of service. You are responsible for providing the insurance company or lawyer with your receipt if you choose to seek reimbursement. Join our monthly massage membership plan to reduce the cost of your recurring massage visits.
