Many massage franchises rely on deceptive marketing when it comes to advertising. For instance, if you go to the website of a local Massage Envy, the only pricing you will find is their “member pricing.” If you are not a first time guest or a member, then the non-member rate for an hour massage is $150 ($3.00 per min). Yes, you read that right, $150. You will not find this rate anywhere on their website, nor will you see that when you book a one hour massage, you’ll only be receiving 50 minutes of hands-on massage. You have to call to inquire, or be surprised when you come out of your treatment.

We have had many former members from local massage franchises tell us about the misleading tactics and high pressure sales approach that was used to sell their memberships. Franchises essentially “trap” you into a long term membership. For many it was a headache and a financial loss – the whole thing makes me cringe. At The Wellness Center, if a member does not come in for many months, we will automatically cancel their membership. I don’t feel good charging someone for something that they are not coming in for.
At The Wellness Center, when you book a One Hour Massage, we provide you with a full hour of hands-on treatment (not 50 minutes). That added 10 minutes makes a BIG difference and allows therapists to work on every part of the body, while feeling less rushed and harried. With our current pricing, our rate is 64 cents less per minute than Massage Envy’s. Our member rates are pretty much in line with these local franchises (see our pricing graphic). When you compare the high caliber and depth of experience of our therapists, it’s easy to see our massage rates are truly the best in town.
