It is with great sadness that I share with you, Dr. Tiffany Binder, beloved friend, mother, daughter, Naturopath, intuitive, healer and colleague passed away just shy of her 51st birthday. Tiffany…a beautiful soul, deeply empathic and compassionate. She had practiced as a Naturopathic Doctor within The Wellness Center for over 10 years. She had a thriving practice and was a gift to everyone within The Wellness Center, staff and clients alike.
Working at The Wellness Center and seeing patients was one of the greatest joys and passions of Tiffany’s life. I was constantly touched and awed by how much time Tiffany would take with each client. She would always give each person her undivided attention and as MUCH time as each client needed, which would mean she was always running late (much to the chagrin of the admin staff), but there was no way around it. She cared so deeply for each client who came through her door. This was Tiffany, always bringing light and love to so many.
About eight years ago, she developed a chronic illness which got progressively worse to the point that she had to suspend practicing. Each year we expected her to get better and return to seeing clients but that dream was not to be as her condition only continued to worsen. After 8 years of battling her illness, Tiffany passed peacefully, surrounded by her family on December 27th, 2022.
I spoke to Tiffany a few months before her passing and we talked about a concept called SHUVA. Her friend, Patty Beach, wrote a book entitled, The Art of Alignment, A Practical Guide to Inclusive Leadership that encompassed Tiffany’s approach to engaging with her patients. The book discusses the principle of SHUVA, which stands for Seen, Heard, Understood, Valued and Appreciated, which addresses this basic human need. When someone practices SHUVA, they create psychological safety, where others feel comfortable expressing themselves and being vulnerable. It can create a true path toward alignment and harmony with others. Tiffany was excited about creating an online group that practiced the SHUVA principle as a means of connection/support to others until she was well enough to return to practicing Naturopathic medicine. Unfortunately, her health took a turn and we were unable to pull anything together. Tiffany used SHUVA all the time with her clients, which is one of the reasons she was such an impactful Naturopath. She really took the time to ensure her clients were seen, heard, understood, valued and appreciated. I will carry this gift that Tiffany gave so unconditionally, forward in my daily life and relationships.

Rest in peace my friend.
