This past month has been particularly hard on me.  As many of you know my father was suffering from Pancreatic Cancer and on March 23rd he passed away.  I was able to be there by his side during his last moments, which was a gift.  Since then, life has been filled with lots of time with family and friends, honoring my father and supporting my mother during this tough time.  I came across this article on why natural solutions to Cancer can be ineffective, and it really resonated with me as I reflect on my father’s diagnosis and the path he choose.   Dad Head Shot
I’m slowly getting back into the swing of things, but I have definitely been feeling “off” and scattered.   I am having a hard time focusing on tasks and feel like I am just trying to get through each day.  I have been making some poor decisions, and trying really hard to be gentle on myself for making mistakes.
Do you ever feel “off” your game?  These are times when we have to be very gentle with ourselves, not blame or shame ourselves for making mistakes, but instead honor the soft part of ourselves that needs to be nurtured.   Typically, our culture doesn’t allow the space to be vulnerable and nurturing to ourselves, instead it feels like we are taught to “power” through things and be strong.  Well for now, I am not feeling strong, and am trying to give myself lots of permission and grace to just be who I am right now.
For those of you that might have also had a loss of someone you love recently, Sheri Stepp has additional training in grief massage, to help you get through a loss.  You honestly can’t go wrong if you just come in and get a nurturing massage to help you get through any tough time you might be having.
Thanks to everyone for all the support.
