I am not sure if it is because I am getting older or that I have a child now… time seems to just fly by.
On top of that, I no longer enjoy rushing to things… I definitely prefer a low key, slower paced lifestyle, sometimes I find this challenging while living in our society today.
Maya, my daughter definitely helps me slow down. My days with her are filled with joy and wonderment. Yesterday we kept running through all the fallen leaves in the park.
Slowing down has helped us create space for more intentional living. My husband and I are doing the Whole30, which is a super strict eating plan for 30 days, to be true to the plan everything is made at home from scratch. From the ketchup and salad dressing to the BBQ sauce… as everything on the market is not Whole30 compliant. We have been spending lots of time meal planning and cooking. The Whole30 has forced us to slow down and one of the side benefits is sharing amazing food with my husband.
As we move into the busy holiday season, remember to slow down and enjoy small daily pleasures: a walk outside, a beautiful clear evening, good food, quality time with friends and family. As always, remember to take time to nurture your own soul.
To Your Health and Happiness,
Sharon
