Sometimes I feel like I am constant sorting through stuff! This morning I took some time to organize our kitchen drawers…I really didn’t organize them I just took everything out and put it all back in and gave some thought to buying drawer dividers at the container store. Then I thought oh… I should probably clean out the refrigerator. I opened the refrigerator door for a moment and then decided it was going to be too long of a task for me to do right then.

This all goes along with my theme… the power of less. I have finally gotten my email box down to less than 10 emails and now have been taking some time to “unsubscribe” from email lists that I don’t actively read. I always think I will read them… but alas I never get to them. Similar to some of the clothes I own… at some point I will wear that zebra themed satin shirt, so I keep it in my closet for that someday.
Now with my goal to have less, I have to be more vigilant about deleting, and donating. I have even unsubscribed to all the daily deals email lists I am on (groupon, living social etc.). I actually read that you can spend 60% more on stuff through these sites… a majority of time we forget to redeem and use our deals. Now I won’t be tempted to buy more stuff that I don’t need.
Cleaning up and sorting through things is definitely a process. It is nice to keep up with it on a yearly basis rather than let things keep piling up. It definitely takes time, energy and intention… like anything in life.
So now that my email box is clean! What are my next goals?
1) Is to process my emails daily (Monday-Friday) and keep my email box below 10 emails at any given time. It takes me about an hour once a day to go address all of my emails.
2) To clean out the home office… there are books that I no longer read. A highchair that my daughter doesn’t use… and a pile of donations that need to get donated!
Wish me luck! What is the one thing that you would like to clear out of your space?
