I am finally recovering from a 5 day cold that started last week. Getting sick is always a reminder of how valuable our health is. It is easy to take for granted when we are feeling good.
This is my first cold in over 2 years… I know better. I take my vitamins, I eat well and try to get 8-9 hours of sleep per night. Last week before the cold took hold, I had been working 10 hours a day, to only come home and work on home projects as we prepare for the birth of our first child. I was waking up at 3:30am almost every evening and would just start thinking about all the things that needed to get done.
Of course, I paid for it. With 5 days of basically needing to stay home and rest. But the good thing was, it was once again a wake-up call that no matter how many things you think you “need” to get done. It doesn’t matter when you don’t have your health, energy and well-being.
I am feeling much better this week, and as I type… our house is in disarray, the crib is not set up, there is laundry that needs to be done, we still have a list of things to purchase before the baby comes, let’s not even go into all the things that need to happen with The Wellness Center, but I know that what needs to get done will get done. Right now the most important thing is for me to take care of myself and this little being that I am carrying.
Is there something that you need to surrender to? If so I honor your process and journey.
Until next time,
