WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO BECOME A MASSAGE THERAPIST?
Linda’s background is actually in Human Resources Management, which she loved for its diversity and challenges. She was, however, ready to step outside of the corporate box to learn something very differnt and make a career change that would carry into her future. In trying to figure out what that new career/adventure would look like, she listed her criteria:
- Her new career would enable her to sleep at night knowing that she did the best job possible.
- She wanted to know that in working with her, every contact would leave happier than when they arrived.
- She was certain that she would have to work in a joyful, healthy environment that promoted premier customer service and surround herself with ‘adults’.
One morning shewoke up with an epiphany and realized that massage therapy met all the criteria and she knew this was the right path. She spent one week interviewing different massage schools and in making her selection, found that classes started on Monday of the following week. The timing was perfect and she has never looked back.
Linda also does Hot Stone, Neuromuscular and Trigger Point work, Swedish massage, and Deep Tissue in addition to Arthrossage and Reiki.
WHAT IS YOUR SPECIALTY? WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE?
Linda recently gained her certification in Arthrossage – which is massage specifically for folks with Arthritis. She considers this a really important tool, as folks with arthritis are almost always in pain and may be afraid to get massage. This style is a gentler approach to the body to accommodate people’s condition. Linda’s favorite areas to work on are the neck and shoulders and she loves to learn new techniques.
Linda is also certified in Hot Stone massage therapy, neuromuscular and trigger point work, Sports massage and Reiki I and II .
